Andy Dey

Business Manager

Andy enjoyed thirty five years in the military flying fast jets where he was fortunate enough to lead single-service, joint and multi-national organisations at squadron, station and brigade level in the UK, Europe and further afield.  He brings a non-third sector leadership perspective to team ACOSVO together with a passion for improving member’s leadership skills, knowledge and focus, in order to help them and their organisations reach their full capability to excel.

Having joined ACOSVO as a volunteer in September 2012, Andy became Development Manager in December 2012 and, as ACOSVO grew and expanded, Operations & Development Manager in June 2013 & (maybe finally) as of 2019 he currently sits as Business Manager.  Enjoying his second career in the third sector as much if not more than his first, and living only a 5 minute walk from Thorn House in the New Town, Andy is responsible for ACOSVO’s day-to-day and future operations.  His main effort is to ensure strategic outcomes are met and organisational efficiency and effectiveness continually improve, whilst ensuring great member experience and quality of service delivery remain at ACOSVO’s core.

Away from work, Andy is married to Sally, has 2 grown up children and 3 grandchildren.  He enjoys anything sporting, starting each working day with a 5 mile run or gym work.  At the weekend, when not engaged in family orientated activities or more running and gym work, he is at his happiest walking in the hills or desperately trying to reduce his golf handicap.
