ACOSVO is gearing up for our 2017 Annual Conference and we wanted to invite you to put your brand and services in front of the key Scottish third sector decision makers, while also learning about some of the challenges the sector faces.

ACOSVO are looking for expressions of interest from FULL members who wish to use their skills and experience through becoming Trustees.

If you are passionate about Scotland’s third sector and would like to help us achieve our mission “Shape the future of Scotland’s third sector by providing every leader with the opportunities to develop, influence and excel”, please contact in the first instance.

Closing date: Wednesday 6 September 2017

Don’t miss out!  Next Application date 29th September 2017.

ACOSVO welcomes both new and past participants to apply to our FREE Leadership Exchange Programme.  The initiative pairs leaders at middle, senior and executive levels to offer them brief cross sectoral exchanges to learn from each other, develop an understanding of other sectors, encourage collaborative working and improve leadership skill capacity.

Studies in Northern Ireland and the United States have found that up to 45% of Chief Officers intend to leave their post within the next five years.

We are interested in finding out what these numbers look like in Scotland, and what relevant services ACOSVO can offer to support the sector in this regard.

Whether you are considering leaving your post or not we would really appreciate your input into this short survey.

The 2017 ACOSVO Annual Conference has officially launched and this year we are celebrating the magic of leadership.

The Path to Impact project is designed to assess and strengthen the capacity of third sector organisations in Northern Ireland and Scotland.

50 third sector organisations were selected in Scotland and 50 in Northern Ireland to participate in this unique, three-year pilot, which is supported with a grant of £358,810 from the Big Lottery Fund and now you can read about how the first phase of this collaborative project has gone.

This year ACOSVO's Annual Conference will take place on October 31st 2017 at P&G's Church in Edinburgh.

Exact details remain TBC but to coincide with our spooktacular date, the theme of this years' conference will be 'Leadership: It's a Kind of Magic'.

Save the date in your diary and don't miss your chance to network and share best practice in a room full of your third sector peers.

ACOSVO has launched two new services to support current or emerging Chief Officers in the sector.

Due to a recent resignation from one of our board members moving out of the third sector, a mid-year vacancy has arisen on our Board of Trustees.

We would welcome nominations from any interested full ACOSVO member.

In terms of succession planning, as our current Treasurer will be retiring at the AGM in October, we would particularly welcome nominations from those with a financial background who would consider taking up the Office Bearer role of Treasurer at the AGM.

  • Do you find your best ideas come to you away from your desk?
  • Does being active gets your creative juices flowing?
  • Do you really have to be sitting round a table to be networking?

As leaders we spend so much time sitting at our desks, or in meetings, that sometime we forget that fresh air and movement feeds the mind (and body). As such ACOSVO has launched it's new Active Leadership programme to support third sector leaders to de-stress, network, share & develop all while getting healthier and having fun.
