ACOSVO Shortlisted For Prestigious Investors in People Awards 2015

ACOSVO has been named as a leader in people management practice globally, having been shortlisted in the ‘Excellence in the Third Sector’ category in the second annual Investors in People Awards.

The Awards, which received over 400 entries internationally, celebrates the best people management practices amongst Investors in People accredited businesses. Winners are announced at a spectacular awards ceremony and dinner at Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress, the Tower of London, on 24th June 2015. Finalists represent the best of the best worldwide.

ACOSVO is delighted to announce that in only its second year of Investors in People (IIP) membership it has achieved an IIP Gold Award. Gold status means that everyone who works with ACOSVO is focussed toward improving, influencing and inspiring Scotland’s third sector by providing every leader with opportunities to develop, influence and excel.

Scottish Government

A unique partnership of the Scottish Government, businesses and third sector organisations has been announced that will create an innovation programme for Scotland's voluntary sector. Through this programme, charities can access funds and support to accelerate their enterprising ideas.

ACOSVO Annual Review

Having forged strong links with the Scottish Government, the Scotland Office, the Carnegie Trust UK and UK funding organisations in debating opportunities and threats to the new model for Scotland, ACOSVO was delighted to have the opportunity to engage with the Smith Commission and reflect the views of our members.

Members were invited to contribute through written comment and face-to-face discussion at specific devolution-focused events and discussion periods at core ACOSVO events.

Every year ACEVO’s Pay Survey acts as a bench mark for the sectors progress. This year’s shows that there is still progresses to be made to the gender pay gap within the sector and encouraging diversity within charity boards.

The results show:

  • The pay gap between male and female CEO’s has increased to 18.6% of the median male salary compared to last year’s figure of 12.1%. Median male CEO salary has increased to £67,000 (£62,000 in 2012) compared to £54,530 for female CEO’s (£54,500 in 2012)
