The Great ACOSVO Brownie Off

This #GivingTuesday two third sector staff and one professional baker battle it out – but who will be crowned #GivingTuesday Brownie Champion 2015?

Three trays of brownies will be baked by Danielle and Jody, Marketing & Communications Officer and Projects Officer at ACOSVO, and a professional baker @pieces_o_cake. The delicious brownies will be sold to third sector staff in Thorn House, and anyone else that would like a piece of the action. The brownie fans then vote on which piece they enjoyed most.

The votes will be tallied up at the end of the day to determine who will win the title of #GivingTuesday Brownie Champion 2015. Will it be the professionally baked brownies? Or will it be Jody or Danielle’s homemade efforts? The tension is too much, but don’t worry, brownies are on their way!

Kim Roberts, the #GivingTuesday campaign leader said: “The plans at ACOSVO are fantastic, everyone loves a bake-off and everyone loves a brownie.

“There are an enormous number of charities and businesses making plans for #GivingTuesday and the day is set to be bigger and better this year.

“We are calling on everyone, everywhere to seize whatever opportunity they can to get involved.”

All money raised from The Great ACOSVO Brownie Off will buy toys for #SocialMediaSanta, a campaign by Shelter and Third Sector Lab.

Last year #GivingTuesday came to the UK for the first time, and ACOSVO were pleased to take part in such a successful and charitable event. Over 800 partners took part in the day including large businesses such as RBS, BT and Facebook. Major Scottish charities taking part this year include Age Scotland, Scottish SPCA, Waverley Care and MND Scotland.

#GivingTuesday follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday – two of the biggest online shopping days. It began as an opportunity for charities, families, businesses, community centres, and students to come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.
