Scottish Leaders Dinners are being hosted by ACOSVO throughout 2011 with support from the Royal Bank of Scotland.  Scottish Leaders dinners provide an opportunity to hear from an AOCSVO member on life events and leadership lessons his or her career. 

Our speaker this evening is Derek A. Robertson FCMI who joined Keep Scotland Beautiful as Chief Executive in early 2011.  Derek will challenge us all, as Chief Officers, to think about change in current times and how we lead the change our organisation needs.

Derek has 23 years experience of working in senior management and leadership roles within the voluntary and charitable sector. He has worked in both Scotland and England and spent a considerable part of his career at the YMCA and British Red Cross.

Prior to joining Keep Scotland Beautiful, Derek was CEO of environmental charity Groundwork Merseyside, an experience that cemented a considerable interest in environmental issues.

Derek is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and a Member of ACEVO, the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations.

He has served on a variety of charity boards and has also advised and assisted a number of voluntary and charitable organisations that have been working through change.
